Grace Comforters will meet Saturday, May 13th, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will continue to collect ideas for a "hope" quilt for the church. If you have a quilt you are working on, join us while you work on it. If you need fabric for a quilt and it will be donated to From Our Heart (for children) we can help you. If you are just starting out or would like to learn to quilt, we can help you and we have some easy kits that are ready to start. Bring your interest, sewing machine, and lunch and spend some time with us.
Grace Comforters is an informal group of quilters who gather to learn more quilting skills and to create beautiful quilts for charity. Skill levels vary and we share out knowledge with each other. We are currently sewing quilts for From Our Heart, a charity that provides quilts for 0 – 19 year olds (and sometimes adults) who are ill, homeless, victims of disaster, or who have lost a loved one. We make group quilts but, occasionally, create individual quilts too. Everyone has input and gets a change to choose the colors and patterns we use. We sew, unsew, laugh, giggle, talk to ourselves and each other, moan and groan, snack, share our lunches and trade fabrics and ideas. The time is enjoyable and goes much too quickly. The quilts and blankets we make are dedicated four times a year at Grace Baptist Church before being delivered to the charity. We accept donations of cotton fabrics and batting. Please join us. We’d love to sew with you.
